Campus Card for students and employees

The Campus Card is available for students and employees. You will be able to identify yourself as a member of the TU-Berlin with it. It also serves as your library card and the carrier for the semester ticket.

Students will receive an id card without chip and employees will receive an id card with a chip. The use of the chip has been discontinued and therefore does not contain any personal information.

Software certificates are offered to sign/encrypt emails.

Personal information and card specifications

The following information is saved on your Campus Card:

  • only on student ID cards: Data for the semester ticket will be saved anonymized on the RFID chip of the card.
  • only on cards with a chip: The use of the chip has been discontinued and does therefore not hold any data.

First issue of the Campus Card

You can request a Campus Card as a student or employee online, when you register your TUB-Account. (External employees who receive an ID card will only be able to do so at the IT-Service-Desk).

Replacement of the Campus Card

In most cases, you will be able to request a replacement online:

  1. Please open the main webpage of the TU-Berlin (www.tu-berlin.de) and log in with your TUB-Account and password.
  2. Click on the left hand side "Mein Profil"->"Ersatzkarte beantragen".
  3. Select one of the reasons listed below for the replacement of the Campus Card.

Campus Card is damaged, unreadable or expired

Employees:
You will be able to request a new card online. If you are unable to upload a passport picture, you will only be able to request it personally at the IT-Service-Desk (Room E-N 024). In the case of an online request you will be able to choose if the card is to be sent to your secretariat via internal mail or if you want to pick it up personally two workdays after your request. For the personal pickup you will have to present your personal ID or passport and hand back your old Campus Card. The new Campus Card will be free of charge.

Students:
You will be able to request a new card online. If you are unable to upload a passport picture, you will only be able to request it personally at the Card Emission Office. Please notify this to the staff of the Campus Center (main building of the TU-Berlin, Room 0030). The new Campus Card will cost 16,00 Euros. You can pay this fee via bank transfer or at the university's pay desk.

You can pick up your new Campus Card from the Campus Center after two workdays by presenting your personal ID or passport, a printed copy of the payment confirmation and your old Campus Card.

Campus Card was lost or stolen

Employees:
You will be able to request a new card online. If you are unable to upload a passport picture, you will only be able to request it personally at the IT-Service-Desk (Room E-N 024). I am a new employee or student and have yet to receive my Campus Card

Employees:
If you have requested the delivery via internal mail of your Campus Card, it will take at most 10 days after your request or the activation of your TUB-Account for it to be delivered to your secretariat. Should this not be the case, please contact the IT-Service-Desk (room E-N 024).

Students:
Your Campus Card will be deliverd by mail at most 10 days after the activation of your TUB-Account. Should this not be the case please contact the Campus Center (main university building, room H 0030). 

I had to turn in my Campus Card after I've stopped studying

An online replacement request will not be possible. If you had to hand in your old Campus Card, please contact the Campus Center (main university building, room H 0030).
