Software at TU Berlin
TU Berlin has concluded several campus contracts and license contracts for research and teaching which enables departments and partly employees and students to purchase low-cost software licenses using tubIT-Softwareportal [1].

employees and students is conducted using tubIT software portal (quick
access via servicebox on the right) which is maintained by the company
asknet. to tubIT-Softwareportal [3] |
| Available Software [4] | Departments and partly employees and students can acquire
numerous software license within campus contracts and research
& education license programs. |
| Campus Licenses
[5] | These products are usually
software products which tubIT ordered in large numbers for TU Berlin
distributing them to TU departments via tubIT softwareportal.
This ensures discounts which could not be obtained as single
purchaser. |
| R&E Licenses [6] | For this product category research &
education programs resp. outline agreements exist which have been
concluded by TU Berlin, the city of Berlin or another R&E
institution. These products can not be acquired at lower charges
anywhere else. |
| Microsoft Azure [7] | Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching is a special
license program from Microsoft and is available only to Faculty IV
members |
| Low-cost Licenses
[8] | Beside free software licenses members of TU Berlin
(including students) have the option to purchase low-cost software
licenses for some products via tubIT softwareportal due to
correspondent agreements. |
| Free Licenses
[9] | For some products employees and students can obtain
software licenses free of charge via tubIT. This applies to campus
licenses concluded by TUB where the software is provided free of
charge (e.g. Sophos Anti Virus) to departments and members of TU. This
also applies to license programs where manufacturers offer their
software products (e.g. ATLAS.ti) free of charge for research and
education. |
