Create Mailing Lists Yourself

tubIT allows employees and students to create mailing lists themselves. The use of the mailing lists is limited to academic purposes. The use of the mailing lists has to be connected with your occupation or studies. A private use is explicitly prohibited.

Requirements for the setup of mailing lists are:

• a provisioned tubIT account,
• employees who want to create mailing lists for their departmend require the role "Mailinglistenverwalter" (mailing list administrator) and the department requires an approved OrgName.

As mailing list administrator you have access to all mailing lists of your department. Initially the role "Mailinglistenverwalter" is assigned to the head of the department (structure administrator). They can assign the role to other users using the role administration system (Rollenverwaltung).

Employees / students only have access to maling lists which they own.

Please take note of the internal regulations [4].

The list administrator can change the owner of a list using TU portal. By default the applicant is the owner of the list.

For mailing lists archives and/or digests are not supported in general.

The list administration can be accessed from both TU Portal and the URL: lists.tu-berlin.de/mailman/admin/ [5]<Topic-List>

If you cannot see your mailing list as employee, please contact your structure administrator. He/she can register you as list owner if necessary, this will make the list visible to you. Students who cannot see their mailing list please contact tubit@tu-berlin.de. [6]

If you access the admin interface via TU portal not all options will be available, e.g. mass upload of subscribers.
