Communication & Internet

tubIT hosts the data network, the internet connection and the clusters for web, afs and e-mail services of the TU Berlin. These web sites will give you further information about our services.

WirelessLAN [5]
The Technische Universität Berlin offers WirelessLAN (WLAN) with full coverage across its campus.
TUB net-quality [6]
Check the availability of the TU Berlin data network. (accessible through eduroam only)
LAN (IP, DNS) [7]
tubIT operates the internet services of the TU Berlin. Every computer needs an ip address, a dns name and a network connection which are all provided by tubIT.
VPN [8]
The vpn service allows you to establish a secure, encrypted tunnel from your device to the TU Berlin intranet.

Time server [9]
tubIT operates a stratum 2 time server which can be reached via network time protocol (NTP).

Abuse-Handling
Die Netzinfrastruktur und die Rechner der TUB dienen Forschung und Lehre. Fällt ein Rechner durch missbräuchliche Aktivitäten auf, wird er gesperrt und der adm. Gerätebetreuer per E-Mail benachrichtigt.
The network infrastructure and the computers of the TU Berlin serve the purpose of research and education. If we detect abusive activities on an device, we will block the device and contact the administrator via e-mail.
NetNews (NNTP)
The NetNews service (also known as News or Usenet)for the TUB has been available until 01.04.2012 using DFNNetnews [10]. It it is no longer possible to use this free service for TU members. 
A prolonged usage is possible within a 10€ p.a. subscription after signing up at $this->_build_link_list($this->linkCount++, "http://individual.de", "individual.de [11]").

Videoconferences
We are hosting videoconferences with a "Polycom HDX-System" in room E-N 053 and a mobile system "Tandberg TTC6-02" in your rooms.
Podcast
Departments of the TU Berlin can host audio and video podcasts on either their own web sites or our web sites.
