Installation manual "eduroam"

Windows

You need an active internet connection (mobile network, private WiFi)

  1. In the browser click on https://www.campusmanagement.tu-berlin.de/wlan/ select your windows version > download the program with "save file" e.g. in the folder "Downloads"
  2. Remove your old eduroam configuration if available: at the bottom right of the WiFi icon> right mouse button> "Network and Sharing Center" or "Open Network and Internet Settings"> "Manage Wireless Networks" or "Manage Known Networks">  "eduroam" click> "remove network" or "do not save"
  3. In the File Explorer in the folder "Downloads" and start the installation of the program with a double-click
  4. Confirm the security warning> in the installation program with "Next"> then confirm with "OK" that you are a TU member
  5. Enter your TUB account followed by the ending "@win.tu-berlin.de"> Enter your TUB-Account password twice> "Install"> "Finish"

Mac OSX

You need an active internet connection (mobile network, private WiFi)

  1. Click on the top left of the "Apple" icon and check your operating system (MacOS Mojave, High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan ...)
  2. In the browser go on https://www.campusmanagement.tu-berlin.de/wlan/ > Select your app Mac version and right click on it> "Save target as ..."> select a location> "Save"
  3. Navigate to the location in the Finder> double-click the downloaded file
  4. "Do you really want to install eduroam?" > "Continue" > Enter your TUB account followed by the extension "@win.tu-berlin.de"> Enter your TUB password> "Install"
  5. "Do you really want to install eduroam?" > "Install"> In the window "Profiles / MDM would like to make changes"> "Use password" and enter username and password of the computer, then the profile installer and the connection will be established.

iOS

You need an active internet connection (mobile network, private WLAN):

  1. Remove your old eduroam configuration if it exists: Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Profile" > and click on "eduroam" > "Remove Profile" > enter the PIN of your device > "Remove"
  2. Check your operating system version under: "General" > "Info" > "(Software) Version"
  3. Open Safari (no alternative browser!) and go to https://campusmanagement.tu-berlin.de/wlan
  4. Select the correct iOS version (6 or 7+)
  5. You may have to confirm the message "The page is trying to load a configuration profile, would you like to allow this?"
  6. Should the installation window close at this point go back to "Settings" > "General" > "Profile" and click on "eduroam"
  7. Then click on "Install"> enter the PIN of your device > "Next"> "Install"> "Install"
  8. Enter your TUB account followed by the extension "@win.tu-berlin.de" > "Next" > Enter your TUB password > "Next" > "Done"
  9. If the device does not automatically connect to eduroam go to "Settings" > "Wifi" > and click on "eduroam"

Android

You need an active internet connection (mobile network, private WLAN)

  1. Select "Google PlayStore" on your device > search for "eduroam CAT" > install the app without opening it > close the PlayStore
  2. Remove your old eduroam configuration if available: go to the "Settings" of your device > "Wifi" > hold down "eduroam"> "Remove network"
  3. Open the "eduroam CAT" app> Allow "access to the location of the device" if asked
  4. Activate mobile data, connect with your private Wifi or with the "TUB-Guest" Wifi network of the TU Berlin to have Internet access
  5. The app automatically tries to recognize your location and thus the TU Berlin, if that does not work, please click on "Manual Search" in the app below > enter in the new window "Technische Universität Berlin" > "Search"
  6. Select "Technische Universität Berlin" from the list and allow "the access of the app to photos, media and files"
  7. Click "Install" > "Are you sure you want to install the profile?" > "Yes"
  8. Enter your TUB account followed by the extension "@win.tu-berlin.de" and your TUB password > "Install"
  9. leave "eduroam CAT" app installed

Linux

1. Open a new terminal window and enter:

cd /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections

ls

2. If „eduroam“ is listed, then wirite:

sudo rm eduroam

3. Open "System Settings" > "Network" > "eduroam" > "connect" (if "eduroam" is not listed, select  „connect to hidden network")

4.Enter the following:

SSID: eduroam

Security WPA2 Enterprise/ AES

EAP Type: PEAP

Auth/method: EAP-MSCHAP v2

Domain (if available): tu-berlin.de

User: <Your_TUB_Account>@win.tu-berlin.de

Anonymous Identity: wlan@win.tu-berlin.de

Password: Your TUB-Accound Passwort

Certificate: none

5. Accept and connect to the eduroam network

6. Open in your browser the following address „www.campusmanagement.tu-berlin.de/wlan“ > further down, right-click „Zertifikatkette“  > "Save Link As..." > Save it as , for example: „Zertifikatkette_TU_Berlin.crt

8. Back in  Network Settings "eduroam" > "Security" > select the previously downloaded certificate
