Clear Network (Subnetwork) for VLAN (Structure Administrator)
Step 1: Log in to TUB Portal and select "Netzwerkverwaltung" > "WLAN- und VPN-Zugänge verwalten" > Tab "Subnets"
Step 2: Select a network which you want to clear for VLAN use.
Step 3: Tick the options WLAN and/or VPN to device if you want to clear the subnetwork for WLAN and/or VPN.
Result:
After the confirmation the result of your action will be displayed in a new window.
- Activation: confirm your changes, this will send an e-mail the network team which will configure the network for you
- Change/deactivation: this will also be sent to the network team (please note that upon deactivation all user permissions will be deleted)
Status:
- Checkbox ticked: Network is activated for WLAN/VPN
- Checkbox not ticked: Network is not activated for WLAN/VPN
- Checkbox is deactivated: You can not activate the subnetwork
Grant Access Permissions for VLAN (Structure Administrator)
Step 1: Log in to TU Portal and navigate to "Netzwerkverwaltung" > "WLAN- und VPN-Zugänge verwalten" > Tab "Berechtigungen"
Step 2: Select one of the networks and enter the name of the person you want to provide with use rights. Click "+"
Step 3: The person will be shown in the list at the bottom, now you can tick the options for WLAN2VLAN and/or VPN2VLAN. (Changes will come into effect immediately)
Set Desired Network for WLAN Connection (User)
Step 1: Log in to TU Portal and navigate to "Mein Profil" > "WLAN / VPN Einstellungen ändern" > Tab "WLAN"
Step 2: Select the network which you want to be connected to upon eduroam login.
Result:
- In case the selected network has not been cleared yet, you will receive a correspondent notification and have the option to contact your structure administrator via e-mail, that you desire a clearance of the network.
- If the network has been cleared already and you do not have the required permission by the structure administrator, you will receive a notification which you can forward to your structure administrator.
- If the network is cleared and you have all required permissions, you can make your changes at any time.
Colors:
- Green dot: This network is currently activated.
- Black text: You can activate this network.
- Text shown greyed out: This network can currently not be activated.
Set Desired Network for VPN Connection (User)
Step 1: Log in to TU Portal and navigate to "Mein Profil" > "WLAN / VPN Einstellungen ändern" > Tab "VPN"
Step 2: Select the network which you want to be connected to upon VPN login.
Result:
- In case the selected network has not been cleared yet, you will receive a correspondent notification and have the option to contact your structure administrator via e-mail, that you desire a clearance of the network.
