Guest Accounts
The portal application Guest Accounts allows you to create accounts which may only access the "TUB-Guest" wifi network of TU Berlin.
Required Roles
In order to receive an access permission for this application, you require the role gast-verwalter (guest administrator). Initially this role is assigned to all Faculty Information Officers (FIO). Role administrators who do not have the role available in their portal may assign the role to themself after having consulted the head of their department.
Instructions: Guest Account Login
Step 1: The guest is on TU Berlin campus and uses a wifi enabled device (e.g. notebook, smartphone or tablet)
Step 2: The guest selects the network "TUB-Guest"
Step 3: Open a browser (e.g. Firefox, Internet Explorer) and you will be automatically redirected to the login site.
Step 4: Please enter the guest username and the correspondent password (case sensitive) into the login form.
Step 5: After the confirmation of the terms of service your guest is online and enabled to surf the web or to read e-mails.
Step 6: After successful login a popup window with a logout button will open. This can be used to terminate the session.
Instructions: Create a Guest Account
Step 1:
A guest account, valid for the next 5 days: Login at www.tubit.tu-berlin.de/gastkonto_express
Multiple guest accounts for any duration: Log in to TU Portal and select the application Gast-Accounts from IT-Anträge.
Please notice:
We hereby want to point out that a guest account can only ever be allocated to one individual (guest). The guest may not relay the access data to anyone and has to ensure that the account is not abused for criminal offenses.
Claims concerning damage to the TU Berlin caused by usage of the guest account can only be made towards the person who set up the guest account.
Therefore we suggest that you keep a record of the allocations, to enable you to identify the respective user upon tubIT inquiry and to keep yourself claim-free.
Please inform your guest about the above to make him/her aware of the importance of safe-guarding the access data.
